About IBPS - Clerk

Background and Rationale

IBPS Clerk: Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the IBPS Clerk Exam to select candidates for recruitment to the post of Clerk in the participating Public Sector Banks (PSBs) and financial institutions. From this year onwards, the IBPS Clerk Exam will be held in two phases viz. Preliminary Exam followed by the Main Examination. Both the exam will be conducted online i.e. Computer-based. Those candidates who will qualify the IBPS Clerk Online Pre-Exam will be eligible to take the Main Examination.

Students are required to qualify both these exams to get selected for the post of clerical cadre in most of the premier Public Sector Banks. The main thing to note here is that there is no interview process required for the selection of candidate after the mains exam. 100% weightage is given to the result of mains exam result.
